The program also allowed Symantec to capture intelligence about their unmanaged partners.

The Planet Group Solution

The Planet Group created a target-based rebate program aimed at retaining and driving loyalty and revenue amongst partner organizations. Core to the program was an intelligent and evolving database providing detailed partner data and analysis, and sophisticated time-based program analysis. A comprehensive, multilingual program infrastructure enabled accurate tracking and management of rebates, tactical promotional activity, and ongoing communication with partner communities in 14 languages. The Planet Group managed all rebate claims and partner payment.

The Planet Group Solution

The Planet Group developed an incentive program for predefined individuals within 15 Symantec UK partner organizations. Individual incremental revenue targets were set, progress was updated weekly, and partners were able to view their status regularly on line. The program also rewarded partners for undertaking training and attending events, and provided them with access to relevant sales and marketing tools. The program enabled Symantec to foster a consistent two-way relationship with their partners, and reward highest-achieving partners at the end of each quarter with prizes.

  • An electronic coupon system to be used in 58 countries and 14 languages
  • An extension of the existing partner program portal and incentive system used by over 13,000 partners

The Planet Group Solution

The Planet Group developed and integrated an e-coupons system into the existing unmanaged partner portal, ensuring that partners received, registered, and redeemed their e-coupons within their familiar local language portal. The e-coupons were used for tactical time-limited SKU product level discounts, for product family promotions including upgrades and cross trade-in. The e-coupon infrastructure provided an effective way of regularly communicating the Symantec message and brand to unmanaged partners. The program was successful in maintaining partner engagement with Symantec, and significantly increased recruitment amongst the unmanaged community into the official Symantec partner program.
